Existing for many years as a totally anonymous\nand untraceable entity\, Abyssal colluded wi th Profound Lore Records to release\n“Novit Enim Dominus\, Qui Sunt Eius” in 2011 – a benchmark album for impenetrable\nand suffocating darkness. Th eir 2015 magnum opus “Antikatastaseis” fused\ndarkness and light in equal measure to create an otherworldly and ethereal\nexperience. With 2019’s “ A Beacon in the Husk” Abyssal provided a challenging\,\nobtuse and cathart ic expedition into the human psyche\, with an album that\ncontinues to gro w in infamy to this day. Between full length works\, Abyssal have\nprolifi cally released ambitious split records with the undergrounds most\nimpress ive artists\, such as Carcinoma\, Ellorsith and Tchornobog\, bringing new\ ndimensions to their sound palette. Playing their first live performances at\nIceland’s Oration festival\, Abyssal have gained a reputation as a unc ompromising\nlive experience\, and have since performed on multiple contin ents at MDF\, NDF\,\nNorth of the Wall and others\, alongside such bands a s Spectral Voice\, Grave\nMiasma\, Sinmara and Svartidaudi.
