DESCRIPTION:🛟 EVENT CANCELLED 🛟\n\n\n\nArt as evidence. In other words\, us
ing art to shed light on a world that would\notherwise be invisible. This
conceptual framework for exploring the potential of\nart to uncover facts\
, expose wrongdoing and raise awareness of social\, political\nand technol
ogical issues was coined a decade ago by the film director Laura\nPoitras
(Citizenfour\, All the Beauty and the Bloodshed). The talk will explore\nt
he theme of disruption in relation to art and whistleblowing\, proposing a
n\nunconventional method to think about computation\, that integrates the
legal\,\nsocial\, political\, and economic frameworks in which technology
is developed and\nused.\n\nDrawing on the events and research programme at
the Disruption Network Lab in\nBerlin\, Germany\, through the voice of it
s founder and director Tatiana\nBazzichelli and the artistic work of Joana
Moll\, the lecture traces the\nbackground to the concept of art as eviden
ce and the impact of whistleblowing on\nart and culture. Specific examples
and projects from the fields of art\, digital\nculture\, and social justi
ce will be presented. These include 'Cookies at War: A\nSomatic Approach t
o the Kill Cloud'\, developed by Joana Moll during her\nfellowship at the
Disruption Network Institute - a new center for investigation\nand empiric
al research into the impact of artificial intelligence on new\ntechnologie
s of war. The talk will also address the importance of creating\nnetworks
of trust in times of increasing polarisation and cultural oppression\,\nbr
	inging together whistleblowers\, artists\, activists\, investigative journ
alists\,\ntech experts and researchers.\n\nConversations on Art and Media:
Unconventional Computing is a new lecture series\nwith invited guests fro
m the expanded fields of media art and theory\,\nco-organized by members o
f HfG Karlsruhe and ZKM. During summer semester 2025\,\nthe series discuss
es unconventional conceptions and materializations of\ncomputers as well a
s alternative ways of dealing with them. In the light of the\nquasi-monopo
ly of big tech companies and in view of powerful presets and\nstandards\,
guest lectures and conversations will address the questions: To what\nexte
nt can computers look or function differently? In which ways can we reflec
t\non\, perceive or handle computing devices differently or change them?\n
Concept: Victor Fancelli Capdevila (HfG)\, Julia Ihls (HfG)\, Tina Lorenz
(ZKM)\,\nLea Luka Sikau (ZKM)\, Nina Zschocke (HfG).\n\n\nTATIANA BAZZICHE
