𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘\n𝗠𝗔𝗡 (𝗨𝗦) return with their most crushing album to date\, Observanc
	e. After\ntwelve years at the forefront of underground music\, PRIMITIVE M
AN takes\nmerciless aim at the plentiful ills that besiege the world aroun
d them\, and in\nthe process of doing so do not spare themselves from thei
r flagellating\ntongue-lashings. With motifs and symbols recurring through
out the lyrics and\nartwork (also created by McCarthy)\, and drawing influ
ence from the work of Tongo\nEisen-Martin - specifically Blood on the Fog
	- McCarthy doesn’t offer answers\,\nhe only seeks to share his experiences
. Personal and professional pitfalls are\nexplored against the backdrop of
a broken social contract that is decimating the\nlives of working class c
itizens. While party politics dominate the media\, a more\ninsidious divid
e preoccupies McCarthy as he is haunted by techno feudalism and\nthe futur
e of human rights and social unrest. Whilst McCarthy’s lyrics are a\ndomin
ant presence throughout Observance\, the six songs that make up the album\
nare a truly collaborative effort written and arranged with absolute devot
ion.\nDrummer Joe Linden\, bassist Jon Campos and McCarthy threw themselve
s into\nwriting shortly after the release of 2022’s Insurmountable EP. Com
mitting to the\ntask at hand\, the trio describe themselves as “obsessed”
during the genesis of\nObservance\; the intricacies of shaping their evolv
	ing\, trance-inducing sound\nbecame all-consuming. Despite leaning into th
eir more experimental side\,\nPRIMITIVE MAN maintain a tight grip on the h
eavy sound that has defined them for\nyears. Observance is still a challen
ging record\, demanding the listener’s\nattention at every turn. The sound
of Observance is imbued with a new element\nfor the band - sadness. Yet M
cCarthy describes this as the most positive\nPRIMITIVE MAN record to date\
; even as they pick over the carcass of\ndisillusionment they still seek a
way out\, a path towards the light. Observance\nwas recorded and mixed th
roughout February and March 2025\, at Bricktop Recording\nStudio in Chicag
o with producer Andy Nelson\, before being mastered by Arthur\nRizk. 𝗞𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗔
𝗣𝗦 (𝗔𝗨) is an Australian post-industrial project whose\nhistory is insepar
able from violence—both as subject matter and as physical\nmethodology. Fo
rmed on the periphery of collapse and personal disintegration\,\nthe proje
ct has cultivated a reputation for performances that are\nconfrontational\
, ascetic\, and unwavering in their commitment to realism. The\nband has r
ecently relocated to Iceland\, a move that reflects its ongoing pursuit\no
f isolation\, severity\, and a more unforgiving creative environment. The
live\napparatus centres on a set of morgue-derived instruments and impleme
	nts: blood-\nand saliva-stained headrests\, knee pins\, hacksaws\, throat
expanders\, and other\ndevices once used to manipulate\, open\, and restra
in the human body. These\nobjects are not symbolic. They function as percu
ssive tools and structural\ncomponents in performance\, carrying the resid
ue of their original purpose into\nthe project’s sonic architecture. Since
its inception\, Kollaps has maintained a\nrelentless touring history acro
ss Europe and beyond\, appearing at major\nfestivals including Roskilde\,
	Roadburn\, Wave-Gotik-Treffen\, Soulcrusher\, and\nother significant insti
	tutions within the industrial\, experimental\, and\nextreme-music circuits
. On stage\, Kollaps operates less as a traditional band\nthan as an appar
atus of tension and rupture\, constructing compositions from\nmetal fatigu
	e\, concrete pressure\, ruptured electronics\, and recurring motifs of\nde
cay. Kollaps represents a form of post-industrial music that rejects nosta
lgia\nin favour of excavation: unearthing the mechanical\, the biological\
	, and the\nviolated. It is a documentation of harm\, endurance\, and the m
achinery of the\nbody—ultimately\, a study of disappearance and the residu
e left behind when\ncivility is stripped away.
