Prof Dr Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung - HfG x ZKM Thinking Inside Out
In der gemeinsamen Vortragsreihe thinking inside out von ZKM und HfG laden wir Gäste aus den Bereichen Philosophie, Literatur und Kunst zu einem offenen Austausch mit Universitätsmitgliedern, ZKM-Mitarbeiter:innen und den Menschen in Karlsruhe ein.
Über den Gast: Prof. Dr. Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung ist Kurator, Autor und Biotechnologe. Derzeit ist er Intendant und Chefkurator des Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin sowie Chefkurator der 36. São Paulo Biennale. Er ist Gründer und war künstlerischer Leiter von SAVVY Contemporary in Berlin sowie künstlerischer Leiter von sonsbeek20–24, einer quadriennalen Ausstellung zeitgenössischer Kunst in Arnhem, Niederlande.
Darüber hinaus war er Curator-at-Large für documenta 14 unter der künstlerischen Leitung von Adam Szymczyk in Athen und Kassel im Jahr 2017 sowie Gastkurator der Dak'Art Biennale in Dakar, Senegal, im Jahr 2018. Zudem übernahm er 2019 und 2022 die künstlerische Leitung der 12. und 13. Ausgabe der Bamako Encounters, der Fotografie-Biennale in Mali. Gemeinsam mit dem Miracle Workers Collective kuratierte er 2019 den finnischen Pavillon auf der 58th Venice Biennale.
Prof. Dr. Ndikung war Gastprofessor für Curatorial Studies und Sound Art an der Städelschule und ist derzeit Professor sowie Leiter des Masterstudiengangs Spatial Strategies an der Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin. 2020 erhielt er das erste International Curators Residency Fellowship der OCAD University in Toronto.
Zu seinen Veröffentlichungen zählen unter anderem The Delusions of Care, An Ongoing-Offcoming Tale: Ruminations on Art, Culture, Politics and Us/Others sowie Pidginization as Curatorial Method.

As part of the joint lecture series thinking inside out organized by ZKM and HfG, we invite guests from the fields of philosophy, literature, and art to engage in an open dialogue with university members, ZKM staff, and the people of Karlsruhe.
About the guest: Prof. Dr. Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung is a curator, author and biotechnologist, currently serving as director and chief curator of Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) Berlin, Germany and chief curator of the 36. São Paulo Biennale. He is the founder and was artistic director of SAVVY Contemporary in Berlin, as well as the artistic director of sonsbeek20–24, a quadrennial contemporary art exhibition in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
He also worked as curator-at-large for Adam Szymczyk’s Documenta 14 in Athens, Greece and Kassel, Germany in 2017 and was guest curator of the Dak’Art biennale in Dakar, Senegal, in 2018. Additionally, he served as the artistic director for the 12th and 13th editions of the Bamako Encounters photography biennial in Mali, taking on this role in 2019 and 2022. Together with the Miracle Workers Collective, he curated the Finland Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale, 2019.
Prof. Dr. Ndikung was a guest professor in curatorial studies and sound art at the Städelschule in Frankfurt, and he is currently a professor in and head of the faculty of Spatial Strategies Master’s program at the Weissensee Academy of Art in Berlin.
He was the recipient of the first OCAD University International Curators Residency fellowship in Toronto in 2020.
